Functional Obedience
Our training program goals are tailored to suit you and your dog. Just let us know what you would like to accomplish, and we will help you get there!
Training goals, which are flexible and determined according to your preferences, may include on and off-leash obedience (including in high-distraction indoor and outdoor environments), proper leash/crate/household manners, proper social behavior around other dogs and people, and, if requested, bicycle/bikejoring training.
Program duration depends upon the dog, their issues, your goals, and your commitment level. We provide you with the knowledge, skills, and ongoing support you need to maintain your dog’s training.
Please contact us to discuss which training program would be best for you and your dog. We are always happy to help!
Behavior Modification
Struggling with your dog’s behavior? We can help!
We have a “big picture” approach to behavior modification. Problem behaviors are often the result of multiple factors that have to be addressed. For example, if your dog barks and lunges during walks, it’s not because “they’re just crazy”; it is far more likely that you as a handler just need to be shown how to implement the appropriate structure, communication, and training to prevent that behavior. We don’t just train your dog–we teach you how to work with them!
For those of you who want a fully trained, obedient dog but are concerned about behavioral issues standing in the way, rest assured that obedience training and behavior go hand-in-hand. We address any problem behaviors as we work towards obedience goals.
Once again, every dog (and human) is an individual; please contact us so we can discuss which training program would be best for you and your dog.
Bicycle/Bikejoring
We can teach your dog to safely accompany you alongside your bicycle. Depending upon the dog and their ability/willingness to pull, we can also teach them to bikejor, meaning they wear a harness and help pull you while you pedal.
Bikejoring is only performed on appropriate trails or places without cars. We ALWAYS keep dogs on the right side of the bike and on a short leash when accompanying us on the street.
***Dogs must be proficient or training towards proficiency in their leash-walking, obedience commands, and social manners before being trained on the bike.***
Dog Walking
Does your dog need exercise? We have two huskies, so we understand! We can take your dog for a typical walk around the neighborhood, off-leash on an appropriate trail with one or more of our own dogs (if trained off-leash), or for a bike ride (if trained on the bike).
Please note that, if your dog currently pulls, we must be able to teach them to walk nicely on a leash in order to exercise them for you.
